Stepper motor drivers

Our most versatile stepper motor drivers can drive both unipolar and bipolar stepper motors, perform lifetime tests for months while continually measuring voltage and temperature, force and pressure conditions. Scale-up is easy thanks to modular connection for parallel testing of units and a connection to an IoT network.

These drivers are our most versatile stepper motor testers ever. Not only do they drive both unipolar and bipolar stepper motors, but also perform multiple tests simultaneously with the same setup. The primary purpose of the drivers will be lifetime test, going through thousands of operating cycles. With variety of tests lasting anything between 10 minutes and 3-4 months, continuity is the key to execution speed and credibility. The process is almost fully automated, and the drivers can be controlled remotely through an IoT network.
Each driver can control up to 5 stepper motors. However, the solution is modular, and individual drivers can be interconnected to be operated simultaneously. In the pictures below you can see 2 drivers connected. 3 more units are on the way, enabling parallel testing of 25 motors at a time. The setup allows for connection of a variety of sensors, so users can later change their test specification and still use the same testing device. There are several parameters that we are optimizing the setup for: temperature, both ambient and inside the stepper motors, force, pressure, voltage and more. Because in this application the stepper motors will be opening and closing valves, it is necessary to test mechanical characteristics, such as backlash displacement inside valves.
